UnitedHealthcare Employees Give Back at EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women in New Yor

More than 100 UnitedHealthcare employees are rallying around the company's mission of helping people live healthier lives by volunteering at the 13th Annual Entertainment Industry Foundation's (EIF) Revlon Run/WalkRevlon Run/Walk for Women in Manhattan.

EIF's Revlon Run/Walk event is one of the nation's largest single-day fund-raisers to support women's cancer research, counseling and outreach programs in New York and Los Angeles.

UnitedHealthcare volunteers are staffing water stations along the route and participating in the 5k Run/Walk. Participants and spectators also have the opportunity to sign up to volunteer for community organizations throughout the event.

UnitedHealthcare's involvement in the Run/Walk is the first in a series of volunteering events the company is incorporating into its "Do Good. Live Well." initiative – a collaboration with EIF's iParticipate campaign to inspire a new level of service and volunteerism in America. Additional events planned for Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles and Minneapolis will involve other community-based partners.

"Last year, 73 percent of our employees volunteered in the communities where we live and serve," said Dr. Mark Leenay, senior vice president of UnitedHealthcare, a UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) company. "Today's event is another opportunity for our employees to show their support of volunteerism and community involvement – and to live our company's mission."
