The American Red Cross is where people mobilize to help their neighbors—across the street, across the country, and across the world—in emergencies. Each year, through over 700 locally supported chapters, more than half a million people volunteer with the Red Cross to help in communities large and small. You can join them!

So you want to volunteer with the Red Cross?

There’s tons you can do:

• Train to be and ready to respond to disasters
• Support a blood drive
• Delivering messages to our US service personnel
• Connect families displaced by disasters or conflict, and much more

First thing’s first:

• Find your Local Red Cross or...
• Use VolunteerMatch to locate local Red Cross volunteer opportunities in your community.

Decide

• Go through the Online Orientation that will provide an overview of the work that Red Cross volunteers do.
• View the Introduction to Disaster Services video that shows you some of the work disaster volunteers perform both on the disaster site and behind the scenes.
